CHINA’S CREATIVE WAY TO BEAT POLLUTION

CHINA’S CREATIVE WAY TO BEAT POLLUTION

Some countries, not only China, struggle for the pollution issue. But, the thing that differs them is for China, the pollution comes from the excessive factories’ waste plus cars, while in other countries come from cars or other causes. How China beats the pollution? I find it really really creative!

I actually heard this method last year. My friend who once lived in Beijing told me that Bejing’s government used a fan-like machine to transfer the pollution to other parts of China, as it was unbearable at the time. But, I found it absurd! Now that I found the news, I was like, ah so it was right… Though my friend’s story was not that accurate, but here is how the machine actually works!

Introducing To You: The Mist Cannon

Yes, the mist cannon… It’s Chinese weapon to beat the pollution.

This is how it works. It nebulizes liquid into tiny particles and spraying them into the air, where they combine with harmful dust particles to form water droplets that fall to the ground. This reduces the chance of workers (especially miners) developing lung and respiratory problems. This idea then was adopted to help the residents of heavily polluted cities. When the size of the nebulized liquid particles equals that of the dust, the two kinds of substances are mostly likely to combine to form a water drop.

The Magic Wand: Mist Cannon

This machine was introduced by Chinese company which engages in environmental safety field. At the end of last year, the company began to marketing them to government departments in infrastructure, sanitation, demolition, and the environment. Don’t you think they’re smart! Bravo!!!

Some of the most troublesome pollution particles are smaller than 10 microns. Two commonly used pollution measurements are of PM10 (particles 10 microns and below) and PM2.5 (2.5 microns and below). The company admits the machine can’t catch everything, but says it’s still effective. Two of the machines that they sell can eliminate the dust from a six-story building’s explosive demolition in about five minutes.

Of course other cities do not want the pollution to spread to their area, but it cannot be avoided. So, what is the way out? Yes, they also buy the machine.  Guangxi province’s city of Guigang, Changsha and Zhuzhou (both in the Hunan province), cities in the provinces of Shandong and Shanxi, as well as in Inner Mongolia bought the machine.

Do you remember when Beijing held the APEC Summit Meeting last year? Days before the summit, the air was terrible, long distance was hardly seen. Amazingly, in 1 day, when APEC was held, the sky turned blue AGAIN! Then, what happened after the APEC summit? Bye bye clear blue sky, 再见 zaijian (meaning see you again)! Standing ovation for China’s effort…

Though some of us may be fooled many times by Chinese suppliers, at one point, we have to admit that they really are creative and innovative… Just, be careful :)
