CHINA’S PRIORITY IN IP PROTECTION

CHINA’S PRIORITY IN IP PROTECTION

Last time, we’ve discussed about one of the biggest downside in China’s industry: counterfeit. Chinese government has been trying to beat the counterfeit and increase the Intellectual Property or IP protection. So far, Chinese government has found some brilliant ways to fight the counterfeit. Let’s find out the details!

Innovation Stream in China

Don’t underestimate China! Like I always say, they’re really serious in improving their quality and innovation. This innovation has been leading China not only to produce better quality of products, but also to fight against counterfeit, which is one of the biggest and serious downside of China’s industry.

A smart inspection system that’s based on modern information technology (IT) might make fake goods and low-quality products a history. Yeap, a history! The system, a de facto port information platform constructed by Internet Plus strategy and big data analytics, seeks to set up a comprehensive but automatic export management system that checks key information of each container.

Based on deputy head of Huangpu Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the information about containers will be completed online and backed up in the database. The whole picture of the system will automatically examine Customs declaration, port delivery report and shipping manifest to see if the information is consistent with each other. If not, the whole container will be detained and await further checks. The system will at the same time launch spot checks on all export goods and it’s completely random, which will serve as a great deterrent to counterfeiting activities and ward off possible export risks. These containers, selected or detained, will be subjected to manual examinations with the help of the H986 system, in which containers will be scanned and analyzed to see if there’s anything suspicious.

More than a million counterfeits and low-quality products have been found and seized in Guangdong province since last June and it was when the province launched the campaign against counterfeiting. At this point, we can see how Chinese government has been working hard to fight against counterfeit as more and more companies (local and foreign) became the victim of counterfeit.

Based on statistic, Guangdong province’s trade value ranked first nationwide. It reached 5.03 trillion yuan.
