The Canton Fair finished last week. After three intense weeks of negotiations, business deals and supplier sourcing the fair says goodbye until next October.
Official numbers say the fair has generated export orders worth 28 USD billion, an increase of 0.1% compared to the previous year. The fair also saw an increase of buyers lead by US and Canada buyers, up 2.61% and 2.54% respectively. Also, buyers from the European Union and from emerging markets increased compared to last year. In total more than 185,000 buyers visited the fair for sourcing suppliers, which means an increase of 0.43% compared to last year.
According to the organizers this time customers were more focused on quality, services and innovation rather than price. This is clearly seen in Chinese companies, they no longer are companies focused on copying from other countries, as they mature, investment in research and development grows and their products become more innovative.
As we mentioned before, this is a great opportunity for sourcing suppliers in China. But, if you couldn’t attend don’t worry! There are hundreds of fairs throughout the year in China; each of them specialized in one different industry. You can find all the fairs in China in here.
Going to a fair is always one of the best ways to find suppliers, you can see them in person, you can check their products in real life and, above all, you can start a face to face relationship with the supplier. This is very important for them and it is something worth the journey!
